Flex

Flex lets your members show off the NFTs they actually hold. A member types !flex, and the bot replies with one of their NFTs — the picture, the name, and a line saying who's flexing it.

It works in your Discord server and in any Telegram group you've linked to your community.

Flex is a paid feature — your community needs an active TekTools subscription.

What members type

Command	What happens
!flex	Shows a random NFT the member holds.
!flex #123	Shows that specific edition, if they hold it.
!showoff	Same as !flex (Discord only).

In Discord, if a member holds NFTs from more than one of your collections, the bot sends them a DM asking which collection to flex from. You can turn that off so they get a random NFT from any collection instead — see Settings. In Telegram it always picks at random across everything they hold.

There's a short cooldown of about 15 seconds between flexes, so a channel can't be flooded.

What a member needs

1. A linked wallet. Members link their wallets at tektools.app/account. Flex only ever looks at verified wallets.
2. An NFT from one of your collections. Flex uses the same collections you've already set up for notifications and holder verification — members can't flex NFTs from collections your community doesn't track.
3. For Telegram: their Telegram account has to be linked to their TekTools account, at the same tektools.app/account page.

Setting it up

Flex is managed from the TekTools dashboard:

1. Go to tektools.app and open your community's dashboard.
2. Select Flex in the sidebar.

Only community admins can open the dashboard, so only they can change these settings.

Settings

• Flex enabled — turn the whole feature on or off. While it's off, !flex doesn't answer anyone.

• Only allow !flex in this Discord channel — keep flexing out of your announcement channels by restricting it to one channel. Leave it empty to allow any channel.

  This restriction applies to Discord only. Linked Telegram groups aren't affected by it.

• Collections members can flex — pick which of your collections can be flexed. Leave it empty to allow all of them.

  Only NFT collections appear in this list. Token collections can't be flexed. If the list is empty, add a collection with /add-notifications in Discord first.

• Let members choose which collection to flex — on by default. When a member holds NFTs from several of your collections, the bot DMs them a picker and waits for their answer. Turn it off and !flex answers straight away with a random NFT from any allowed collection — no DM, no waiting. With it off, !flex #123 looks for that edition across all of their collections.

  This setting applies to Discord only. Telegram always picks at random.

Click Save settings when you're done.

Seeing what a flex looks like

The What a flex looks like panel shows the real message your members get, built from an NFT in your own linked wallets. Use Show another to see a different one, and — if you hold NFTs from several collections and members are asked to choose — the buttons above the preview let you switch between them, exactly like the picker your members see. With the picker turned off there are no buttons, because members don't get a choice either.

If you don't hold anything flexable yourself, the panel shows a labelled example of the layout instead. That's normal and doesn't mean flex is broken for your members.

Setup check

Below the preview, the Setup check confirms everything flex needs, in order:

• Your subscription is active
• Flex is turned on
• Collections are set up
• Your wallet is linked
• You hold an NFT you could flex

The first three are about your community. The last two are about your own account — members with a linked wallet and a matching NFT can flex perfectly well even when you personally can't.

Clearing a member's NFT cache

TekTools remembers what's in a member's wallets for a while, so flex stays fast. If someone has just bought or sold an NFT and !flex is still showing their old set, you can force a fresh lookup:

1. In Discord, turn on Developer Mode (User Settings → Advanced).
2. Right-click the member and choose Copy User ID.
3. Paste it into Clear a member's NFT cache on the Flex page and click Clear cache.

Their next flex will fetch live data.

Setting it up from Discord instead

If you'd rather not leave Discord, an admin with the Manage Server permission can run !flex-config in your server. It opens a menu with the same settings: view the current config, enable or disable flex, set or clear the flex channel, choose allowed collections, switch between asking for a collection and flexing from any collection, and clear a member's cache.

Both places write the same settings — change it in one and the other updates too. The dashboard is the only place that can preview a flex.

tip

Run !flex-config from a private admin channel. The menu and its replies delete themselves after a few seconds, but the settings are still yours alone to see.

Troubleshooting

These are the replies members might get, and what to do about each.

Member sees	What it means
Premium Feature	Your community's subscription isn't active.
Flex Disabled	Flex is switched off — turn it on in Settings.
Wrong Channel	They ran !flex outside your chosen flex channel.
Slow Down!	They flexed moments ago; the reply says how long to wait.
No Wallets Found	They haven't linked a wallet at tektools.app/account yet.
No NFTs Found	Their linked wallets are empty.
No Collections Configured	Your community hasn't set up any collections — add one with /add-notifications.
No Matching NFTs	They hold NFTs, but none from the collections you allow.
NFT Not Found	The edition they asked for with !flex #123 isn't one they hold.

If a member insists they hold the NFT and flex disagrees, clear their cache (above) before digging further — a recent trade is the usual answer.

Tips

• Give flex its own channel. A dedicated #flex channel keeps the pictures together and your other channels readable.
• Narrow the collections for a launch. Restricting flex to a single collection during a mint turns it into a showcase for exactly the thing you're promoting.
• Tell your members it exists. Pin a message with !flex and !flex #123 next to your wallet-linking instructions — flexing is a good reason to link a wallet in the first place.
